Sony Worldwide Studio President Shuhei Yoshida released some specs for the upcoming Playstation Vita. The portable console is sexy enough, but knowing that it can handle cross-chats because of a RAM boost makes it much more appealing.
The Specs:
Playstation Vita has 512MB of RAM and 128MB of VRAM. In comparison, the PS3 has 256MB of RAM and 256MB of VRAM. Don’t let the video RAM throw you off; since the Vita operates at a lower resolution it basically needs less to shine.
What it really means for you:
I remember cross-chat being a function that a lot of gamers wanted seen on the PS3. Since it’s featured on the Vita and everybody’s making a big deal about it, I think it’s safe to assume that we won’t see it on the PS3 anytime soon.
